Vincent Kolb stays with the Phoenix Racing family

Last year Vincent Kolb made a spectacular debut in the Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 with second positon overall in the third VLN race of the season. 2019 the 23-year-old is set to contest his second season in partnership with the racing team from the Eifel mountains – this time with a more extensive race programme.

Vincent Kolb has already made a name for himself as an Nürburgring-Nordschleife specialist, despite his young age. He has been racing in the VLN since 2013, initially in a Cup Porsche car. In 2018, Kolb switched to the Phoenix Racing Junior Programme and began to demonstrate his skills in the SP9 class. In his first race with the Audi team, Kolb finished on the podium and secured a number of top finishes in the remaining VLN races.

It won’t come as a surprise then that Ernst Moser’s team is sticking with the youngster in 2019. Alongside entries in the VLN races, Kolb will also compete in the Nürburgring 24 Hours and associated qualifying race and race in selected DMV GTC events. The Frankfurt-born driver will also be taking on a new challenge in 2019: the 12 Hours of Spa as part of the Creventic 24H Series.

„My calendar is fully booked this year. As in 2018, I will be competing in the VLN with Frank Stippler. Last year we formed an excellent team and I think we can be successful this year too. I’ll also be competing in two major endurance races at Spa and at the Nürburgring,” Kolb said, looking ahead to his year of racing. „This year I will also be making my debut in sprint races with three appearances in the DMV GTC. I can’t wait! I am really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel and racing for Phoenix Racing for another year.”
