Stories from the Nürburgring 24h

Not only is the Nürburgring 24h the largest car race in Europe, it is also right on our home turf and undoubtedly one of the highlights of the season. We have put together a few stories about what made this year’s edition so special.

Did you know…

… that 210,000 fans travelled to the Eifel mountains to follow this spectacle of motorsport? The Nordschleife, the paddock and the whole Nürburgring region played host to probably the largest motorsport festival in Germany.

… that we found a whole host of Phoenix Racing fans among the huge crowds. We didn’t miss all those Phoenix flags around the circuit – thank you for your awesome support!

…that four other members of the current Phoenix Racing team were also at the Nürburgring: Philip Ellis, Gosia Rdest, John-Louis Jasper and Jörg Viebahn, racing for ProSport Performance, were all there.

…that we made a visit to our fans around the Nordschleife with Philip, Gosia and Nicolaj Møller Madsen in tow? We had a special surprise for our loyal fans to make the Top 30 Qualifying session even sweeter.

…that the action had begun days before? We prepared for the 24-hour adventure at the Adenau Raceday.

…that the Phoenix Racing Lounge was full to bursting throughout the whole weekend? We invited friends and partners to follow the action and fire on the Phoenix Racing team.

…that the Phoenix Racing Shop in the Ring Boulevard was just as busy? New jackets were available to buy just in time for the highlight of the season.

…that our driver Frédéric Vervisch also showed off his skills in the FIA WTCR, which was also held at the weekend? The Belgian finished on the podium in both races on Saturday.

…that Phoenix Racing fans were able to get to know our good friend Hans Joachim Stuck in an Instagram story? “Striezel” were on hand to answer our questions and tell us all about his experiences with Pheonix Racing. The story is part of our Phoenix Heroes series, which will be online soon – stay tuned!

…that we congratulated our neighbours Manthey Racing and Black Falcon for an overall victory and podium finish? We still hold the overall distance record though! (159 laps in 2014) 😉

…that we would like to once again thank all of our drivers, crew, fans, media representatives at the track and everyone else that helped us put this weekend together.

…that we cannot wait to get back on the grid for the 2019 Nürburgring 24h?!
