Phoenix Racing Asia to tackle the Super Taikyu Series

Phoenix Racing Asia is taking on a brand-new challenge in 2018. The team will be making its debut in the Japanese Super Taikyu Series, entering a pair of Audi R8 LMS GT3. Driving duties will be handled by two strong driver trios with a wealth of experience in the Audi GT car.

The strong Phoenix Racing Asia driver line-up comprises Wei Fung Shaun Thong and Marchy Lee, both of whom took second place at the 24 Hours of Dubai 2018, together with Alex Yoong, Alex Au, Melvin Moh and Keong Wee Lim.

“Entering the Super Taikyu Series in Japan is another important step for Phoenix Racing Asia in the Asian market,” says Team Principal Ernst Moser. “I can’t wait to get started and I’m sure that we have a great chance of success with our two-car team.”

The Super Taikyu Series is a Japanese endurance championship involving GT3, GT4 and TCR cars. The calendar visits six different circuits, with the 24 Hours of Fuji undoubtedly the highlight of the season. The first race is in Suzuka on 1st April 2018.
