Phoenix Racing returns to the Blancpain GT Series after a two-year break. The Meuspath-based team competes in the Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe, formerly known as the Sprint Cup, with two Audi R8 LMS GT3s.
The Phoenix Racing Junior Programme, which was launched last year, will be continued in 2019. Ernst Moser’s team has looked to strike the perfect balance between youth and experience when it comes to the driver line-ups, to provide the young drivers with the best possible support. Finlay Hutchison and Frederic Vervisch will be behind the wheel of one of the team’s cars while Kim-Luis Schramm and Frank Stippler will handle driving duties in the other.
“We recorded some major successes in 2018 with our young drivers in the Phoenix Racing Junior Programme,” Ernst Moser explained. “Of course, we’ll be looking to build on this success this season. The combination of Audi works drivers and young talents is extremely promising. Frederic Vervisch is a very experienced driver who is unbelievably quick and an expert in guiding our young drivers. Frank Stippler has been with the team for years and has been an important contact person for our junior drivers over the past few years within the scope of the VLN.”
The Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe comprises five race events in five different countries. The season begins on 4 and 5 May at prestigious Brands Hatch circuit in the UK.
