Ivan Pareras reinforces GT4 line-up

Phoenix Racing announces its first newcomer – Ivan Pareras – to the 2019 GT4 European Series season. The Spaniard switches from Leipert Motorsport to Ernst Moser’s squad and will be driving an Audi R8 LMS GT4.

“Last year, I drove in the GT4 European Series, at the time against the Phoenix Racing team, who were very successful in 2018. So I’ve all the more reason this season to look forward to joining the Meuspath-based team”, Pareras explains.

The 18-year-old already has GT4 European Championship experience, having driven a Mercedes AMG GT4 in the 2018 Silver Cup, where he drew attention to himself. Pareras also demonstrated his talent in endurance races: he secured pole position and victory at the 2017 Barcelona 24H at the age of 16 and as youngest driver of all time, and also became vice-champion in the Spanish Endurance Championship in the same year.

Team manager Ernst Moser is convinced that Pareras will be a fast young addition to the line-up: “Ivan is a fantastic gain for Phoenix Racing. He fits very well into the team and our Junior programme. He’s still extremely young and it will be a pleasure to support him on his way up the ladder.”
