Heading for the mountains!

Seven ADAC GT Masters racing weekends – that means seven fantastic events. One event is regarded by many contenders as particularly outstanding: The race weekend on the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. The picturesquely situated, state-of-the-art complex and the usually very exciting races are a wow factor for drivers, teams and fans alike. The engines will be roaring again, this time from 8 to 10 June in the middle of the Austrian Alps.

Our promising youngster Max Hofer is especially looking forward to the event in Spielberg. The 18-year old Austrian from Vienna – only 200 kilometres away – is performing on home ground and Max, who has just taken part in a 24h race in Japan, is already conscientiously preparing himself for what lies ahead. “After the grueling 24h race, I’ve got to make sure I’m fit again for Spielberg and I want to be in top form at the start. Racing here at home in front of all those many fans means a lot to me. The Red Bull Ring is an incredibly modern circuit in a wonderful location.”

Our newcomer, who celebrated a sensational win at his debut race in Oschersleben together with Philip Ellis, is cautiously optimistic about the race: “The Spielberg track is relatively fast and not necessarily ideal for our Audi. On the other hand, it’s a wonderful circuit with a super flow. We aim to score as many championship points as possible”, says Max, ready and raring to go. After a strong start to the season in Oschersleben and the Most weekend, which sadly ended without points, Max Hofer and his partner Philip Ellis and also the sister-Audi’s crew Oscar Tunjo and Ivan Lukashevich are again eager to show on the Red Bull Ring what they are capable of achieving with their Audi R8 LMS GT3.

The journey to Styria, Austria is well worthwhile for the fans. In addition to the impressive alpine panorama, spectators can expect two thrilling “Super Sports Car League” races and a jam-packed supporting programme . And for all those, who can’t be on-site to cheer us on, TV channel SPORT1 will be broadcasting both races live as always from 13:00.
