Change in perspective: a slightly different season review

We called and you heard us. Regarding the 2017 season’s review, you sent us some fantastic photos and entertaining anecdotes on Facebook about your best moments from the past racing year. Who do you suppose often appeared in these stories?

Exactly, a lot of our German fans told us about meeting their local hero “Rocky”. He’s well known as a “hands-on” driver and always finds a lot of time for his fans. And he’s also ready for any fun and games. However, his DTM colleague Loïc Duval and his former Phoenix team members Frank Stippler and Nicolaj Møller Madsen were a good match in that respect too.

They were all enthusiastic and ready to fulfill your dreams by getting photos, selfies and autographs. Many of you can now count some of these photos as their own. Such a lot of different, funny and unforgettable snapshots have also found their way to us via our Facebook campaign.

Alex Schulze, who crowns the title image with Mike, sent us the corresponding selfie. One photo – two perspectives: the opportunity to take a simultaneous look in front of and behind the camera, is not an everyday option.

Our campaign has also proved something else: motor racing connects, motor racing is leisure fun for all ages. Most of you combine their visit to the track with an excursion together with family or friends. It doesn’t make any difference, whether the kid brother wants to experience a live race or whether you’re on the lookout for an autograph from your friend’s favourite driver. As far as we’re concerned, whether from the pit lane or from the grandstand, we can count on an amazing fan community and that’s something we’re proud of.

The many hours shared in the team, with partners, friends and fans were also the highlights of our year. No matter whether at the Norisring, in Zandvoort or at the Lausitzring, wins and defeats are definitely best shared together.
We hope that in the coming 2018 season, we can experience and share more fascinating motor racing together with you.
