In the qualifying race, the Danish and German pairing started from position twenty-eight. They moved the #5 Audi forward up to twentieth place within the 39 laps of the race at the Nürburgring, which was enough to secure the runner-up place in the Silver Cup. In the main race, Møller Madsen/Pommer had a strong showing and finished fifteenth overall, scoring another second place in the Silver Cup.
Bad luck hit the second Phoenix Audi with Markus Winkelhock and Niki Mayr-Melnhof behind the wheel. They started from seventh place on the grid in the qualification race and the team had hopes for a top 10 finish. Then came the bad news: a drive-through penalty due to an infringement at the start. By the end of the race they finished in twenty-first position. The #6 Audi started the main race from that same position on the grid and was then spun around by a competitor early in the race. Despite fast work in the pits and strong pace, Winkelhock/Mayr-Melnhof had no chance for a good result: in the end it was position twenty-two.
