DTM: Rockenfeller gathers points on Saturday in Spielberg

Mike Rockenfeller from Audi Sport Team Phoenix finished in the points with seventh place in Saturday’s DTM race at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. From fifth position on the grid, Rockenfeller fell back three positions on the opening lap. He was then running within a group of drivers fighting for fourth place. After his pit stop on the eighth lap, Rockenfeller found himself behind Mercedes driver Gary Paffet (GB) and then behind Maxime Martin (B, BMW) halfway through the race. Teammate Loïc Duval qualified on the last row of the grid after a difficult qualifying session. Duval had a pit stop late in the race and had held third position before entering the pits. In the end, the Frenchman finished fourteenth.

For the second race on Sunday (start at 3.15 PM CEST) changeable weather has been forecast in Spielberg.
