For the first of two races, the two drivers from Phoenix Racing Asia in their Audi R8 LMS fielded under Audi Sport Hong Kong’s entry had qualified for the second row on the grid. From position three, the duo made up two places on the 4.319-kilometer Zhuhai International Circuit and ultimately beamed on podium as the winners. The sister car with Melvin Moh and Lin Keong Wee at the wheel started from position six and crossed the finish line in seventh place.
In race two, the #6 Audi R8 LMS driven by Marchy Lee and Alex Au managed an impressive comeback drive. From P11 on the grid, the two Phoenix drivers recovered six positions and on finishing in fifth place still scored important championship points. Melvin Moh and Lin Keong Wee repeated their results from race one, coming seventh again.
The fourth race weekend of the China GT Championship will be at Shanghai from September 9 to 10.
