Setbacks within the first quarter of the race

Phoenix Racing experienced some setbacks during the first six hours of the race: The no. 5 Audi R8 LMS, with Nicolaj Møller Madsen behind the wheel, was running in third place when the Dane lost control of the car through Hatzenbach and crashed into the barriers shortly before 21:00.

The Dane then had to drive back to the pits and the car subsequently had to undergo a lengthy repair.

Both of the two Audi R8 LMS GT4 cars also lost time: Joonas Lappalainen had an off in the no. 17 entry and returned to the pits for an unscheduled pit stop. The sister no. 18 car also had to stop early due to tire damage.
